R-CALF USA FILES SUIT WITH OCM TO BLOCK JBS ACQUISITION OF NATIONAL BEEF
To keep our US cattle industry viable, R-CALF USA has joined with the Organization for Competitive Markets (OCM) and filed suit to block the JBS acquisition of National Beef. R-CALF USA has not financially committed to the suit, but filing suit will eventually require financial backing. R-CALF USA has been at the forefront of protecting US cattle producers from anti-competitive practices and encouraged the Department of Justice to thoroughly investigate this acquisition. The Department of Justice along with 17 states' attorneys found cause to file suit to block the merger of JBS and National Beef. The Nevada Live Stock Association supports R-CALF's position in attempting to protect the US cattle industry and strongly encourages all members and non-members to financially help support this purpose. All contributions to the "Block JBS Fund" will be held in and earmarked specifically to help pay for this lawsuit.
